Animal Art

Form, texture, color, personality--animals are such a pleasure to watch and be with. The way they move, act and look back at us, captures my mind and heart and moves me to capture them in paint.

Pet Portraits

Work starts with photographs as I develop a good composition that also captures the personality. The background may be imaginary--whatever enhances my subject.

Flights of Fancy

I start with an idea, perhaps a very detailed drawing of animal or plant and then see where imagination takes me.

Inspired Images

God cannot be bound by imagination, but his word overflows with imagery. The works in this gallery were inspired by Bible verses depicting God's love, grace and majesty. The ideas flowed from devotional reading and prayer.

Habitats

Habitats are a way for me, an animal artist to paint some landscapes. Lately I've been loving the late afternoon light at Core Creek Park. Animals are in there but they may be distant or hidden.
